Summary	0003976: Support DESTDIR for make install
Description	Most project support make install DESTDIR="/tmp/_dest" which allows one to see a preview of what would be installed in /tmp/_dest rather than having the modifications be made directly to his filesystem. This is, for example, a feature leveraged by package managers (such as Gentoo's Portage). See attached patch. I think it's barely big enough to need permission to be committed.
