| Summary | 0003319: User list in channels not proper... Extra nickname counted. | ||||
| Description | A user noticed that a mirc of his had a different user count for a room then another mirc. One client has an extra number (displayed on top of window) Ex: mIRC - [#hangout [52] [+nQrtl 60] ... what whatnot... After we noticed the difference in numbers. A few people did //names # to find which username was the extra person... We found an extra username of DreamBaby Simply doing a /hop (cycle of channel) wouldnt fix the problem. I had to reconnect to the server to get the correct names list. DreamBaby is a service bot and so maybe the services screwed it up... I dont know. Services: Anope Thats all the information I can think of. :) | ||||

Did /who #channel solve the problem? |
(and is the /who #channel output the same on both?) |
We didnt try //who # We tried //names # and thats it. //names # didnt fix anything. If a client said there was 32 users, there was 32 users displayed in //names # (extra name that wasnt in channel) And for a client said said there was 31 users. There was 31 users displayed in //names # (31 was the correct number)... //names # didnt fix the extra user, I had to disconnect and reconnect before the list was fixed for me. |

Ex: mIRC - [#hangout [52] [+nQrtl 60] ... what whatnot... Note that the above says there are 52 in the channel, and the channel limit is 60. Was one of the clients an oper? |
Shining Phoenix, yes, probably between 1-2 opers on the channel... |
If the bot is u:lined, and opers see it but non-opers don't, I think finding the buggy code would be easier. |
I dont think DreamBoy was on //whois but is is for ircops... Aka ircops can see it I guess.... But... A non ircop didnt see the /whois yet he was on the names # list... And was fixed when reconnected |
isn't this is "just" a desynch? (like: you see other users when connected to server A than when connected to server B), caused by... whatever... |
I dont know. It was on a network though. About 5 servers or something. I am not an ircop. The owner of the server was too lazy to report. I wanted to help unrealircd so I said something. |
